SocialGlyphsInstagram Notes Explained: Who Can See Them, How Long They Last and More
Instagram Notes are 60-character updates at the top of your DMs. Who can see yours, how long they last, if you can see viewers, and how to post one.
Instagram Notes are tiny status updates — a short line of text or a song — that float above your profile picture at the top of the DM inbox. They’re designed to start conversations, not to collect views.
The basics
| Question | Answer |

| Who can see it? | Followers you follow back or your Close Friends |
| Can I see who viewed it? | No — only likes and replies |
| How many Notes can I have? | One at a time; a new one replaces the old |

- Tap your profile picture at the top (Your note).
- Type up to 60 characters, or add music.
- Choose your audience: Followers you follow back or Close Friends.
- Tap Share.
Who can’t see your Note
- People who follow you but you don’t follow back
- People who aren’t on your Close Friends list, if you picked Close Friends
